Assets represent the data objects your Policies and Conditions evaluate against. You create Assets within the context of a specific Asset Type, and each Asset carries the attributes you define for it. Once an Asset exists, you can edit its details or delete it.
Creating an Asset
- Select the relevant Policies Workspace.
- Click the Assets & Conditions tab.
- Select the Asset Type you want to add an Asset to. The Asset Type Settings screen appears.
- Click the Assets tab.
- Click + Add New Asset. A New Asset panel opens on the right.
- Fill in the required fields:
- Name: a display name for the Asset.
- Asset ID: a unique identifier for the Asset.
- Any Asset Attributes defined for this Asset Type (for example, a text attribute or a multi-value attribute where you add one or more tags).
- Click Create.
Editing an Asset
- Select the relevant Policies Workspace.
- Click the Assets & Conditions tab.
- Select the Asset Type that contains the Asset you want to edit. The Asset Type Settings screen appears.
- Click the Assets tab.
- Click the Asset's name in the list to open its details, and update the fields you need.
Deleting an Asset
You can delete an Asset from either the Assets list or the Asset Details screen.
- From the Assets list, hover over the Asset's row and click Delete Asset.
- From the Asset Details screen, click Delete Asset in the top right corner.
Deleting an Asset is permanent and you cannot undo it.
Viewing an Asset's Policies
From the Assets list, hover over an Asset's row and click View Policy List to see the Policies that reference that Asset.
