    Article summary

Applications in the PlatformPlatform represent an organization's business application, which enables users to interact with the organization's assets. Within the PlatformPlatform, you can create an Application for each business application for which you wish to provide access.

The Application Settings screen for an Application is accessed when you click on the Application in the Authorization Workspace. By Application Settings screen features the following tabs::

    • Details
    • Asset Types
    • API Mappers
By default, the Application Details tab is displayed when you click on an Application

    Details Tab

The Application Details offers you the ability to view and edit Application details as well as delete the Application. Note that deleting the Application in the Authorization Platform does not affect your business application, but it will make any Policies that includes that Application.

On the Application Details, the following information is displayed:

    • Name
    • Description
    • Logo URL
    • Color Indication
    • Scope (containing all current Scopes associated to the current Application)

    Asset Types Tab

To view the Asset Types tab of an Application, select the Application from the Authorization Workspace and click on the tab.

The Asset Types Tab contains a list of all Asset Types currently available for the selected Application. Using the Search field, you can find additional Asset Types if you don't see the one you are looking for.

In addition to the Name of the Asset Type, the Description (if available) is also displayed. On the Asset Types tab, you can:

    • Click the Edit button. A list of all Asset Types is displayed. Asset Types that are currently available for this Application are highlighted. You can add or remove Asset Types from the list. If you make any changes, click Save.
    • Click Delete Application. Note that this will delete the Application but not any Asset Types associated with that Application.
    • Hover over an Asset Type and click Edit. This opens the Asset Types Details screen. Click Edit and the fields can be edited as needed.

    API Mappers Tab

The API Mappers define the relation between the Applications and Asset Types in the {{variable.PlatformName}} to the APIs used to access or use the business applications of the Organization. API Mappers are created for a specific Application. Once created, it is possible to associate the API Mapper to one or more Asset Types. For more information on how this is done, see Working with API Mappers.

For more information, see API Mappers.
