Dynamic Groups let you manage access for your AI agents by shared Attributes instead of by individual Agent. This article walks through creating, viewing, editing, and deleting Dynamic Groups directly from the Groups tab in the AI Agent Registry, and shows how to review the Policies tied to a group.
The AI Agent Registry includes a Groups tab, alongside the existing Agents tab, where you can manage Dynamic Groups for your agents directly from the registry.
A Dynamic Group applies a Policy to Identities that share a common Attribute value, instead of managing access per individual Agent. When an Agent's Attributes change, the Platform automatically updates its Dynamic Group membership.
The Groups tab table shows each Dynamic Group's Name, Description, and the number of Policies associated with it.
Creating a Dynamic Group from the Agent Registry
To create a Dynamic Group:
- From the AI Agent Registry, click the Groups tab.
- Click + Create Group.
- In the side panel, enter a Name and, optionally, a Description.
- In Define Dynamic Group Rules, select an Identity Attribute, an Operator, and a Value. Click And or Or to add further rules. See Managing Dynamic Groups to learn more about Dynamic Group rules.
- Click Save.
The new Dynamic Group appears in the Groups tab table.
Viewing and Editing a Dynamic Group
Click a Dynamic Group's row to open it in View mode. The side panel shows two tabs:
- Details: the group's Name, Description, and rule set.
- Policies: a read-only list of Policies associated with the group. Click Manage on a Policy to open it directly.
To edit a group, hover over its row and click the pencil icon, or open the group and click Edit. Update the fields and click Save.
Deleting a Dynamic Group
To delete a Dynamic Group:
- Open the Dynamic Group you want to delete.
- Click Delete Dynamic Group.
- Confirm the deletion.
Grouping agents dynamically means you set access rules once and let the Platform keep membership current as Attributes change, so you don't need to update Policies every time an agent's role or metadata shifts. For more on how the underlying rule logic works, see Managing Dynamic Groups in the Identities Workspace documentation.
