    Article summary

Rulesets are sets of rules that are created to help define the Policy. They combine the key building blocks and give values according to the Policy. A Ruleset is used to define which Dynamic Groups the Policy should be applied to; what conditions should be applied, etc.

    Creating a Ruleset

    To create a Ruleset:

    1. In the Authorization Workspace, click on the Asset Type for which you wish to create a Ruleset. The Asset Type Settings screen is displayed.
    2. From the selection menu, click Ruleset.
    3. Enter a Name for the new Ruleset.
    4. Enter a Description for the new Ruleset (optional).
    5. Select an Asset Attribute that will be the basis for the rule. The Type (String or Numeric is automatically added)
    6. Select the operator (options include: Equals, Not Equals, Contains, Starts with, Ends with, In, Not in, Greater than, Greater than or Equals, Less than, Less than or Equals).
    7. Set the Value either by selecting an existing option or adding a new one.
    8. To add another Rule to the Ruleset, click And or OR. This defines the relationship between the new rule and previous rules in the Ruleset. As above, complete the steps for defining the new Rule.
    9. Click Save.
