    Article summary

New Workspaces can be created to offer greater granularity to support a separation of duties. Some of the reasons why an organization might decide to define multiple Identity and/or Authorization Workspaces include:

    Creating Multipe Identity Workspaces

In the Identity Workspace, you can create and manage Dynamic Groups that are used to manage end-user permissions by applying Policies created in the Authorization Workspace. Creating multiple Identity Workspaces enables you to define multiple Main Identity Sources within the Platform so that different types of users (for example, the internal workforce, outside contractors, partners, etc.) can be assigned different access permissions to the organizations Applications and Assets.

Multiple Identity Workspaces support separation of duties by allowing different Identities to be managed differently from within the Platform.

    Creating Multiple Authorization Workspaces

In the Authorization Workspace, you can create and manage the objects used in Policies (Asset Types, Assets, Rulesets, Conditions, Applications, etc.), as well as the Policies themselves. In certain cases, different people will need to manage different sets of Policies, for example, manage separate Applications, create and manage Policies for separate lines of business.

Multiple Authorization Workspaces support separation of duties by allowing different owners to manage only the Polices relevant to their areas of responsibility.

    To create a new Workspace:

    1. On the Environment tab, click the three vertical dots and select Manage Workspaces. The Manage Workspaces side panel opens.
    2. Click Add.
    3. In the Name column, enter a unique name for the Workspace.
    4. In the Workspace Type column, select the type of Workspace you wish to create. Options include: Identity, Authorization, and Orchestration. Note that only one Orchestration Workspace can be created. (For more information, see our article on Orchestration Workspaces).
    5. In the Logo URL column, enter the URL for the logo location. This offers a visual way to identify the Workspace. (Optional)
    6. Click Done. The new Workspace is created and will appear in the list of available Workspaces when you click the Switch Workspace icon. For more information, see Managing Workspaces.
