Multiple Authorizers can be configured to work simultaneously to provide access to different endpoints to support numerous Environments and connections to different data centers in different geographical regions. Each Authorizer should be given a unique name.

The Authorization Platform supports several different Authorizers:

Contact PlainID for information on additional Authorizers.

    Managing API Authorizers

Out-of-the-box Authorizers empower IT, security, application, and data teams with a consistent end-to-end approach, and granular control of who has access to what valuable and sensitive data no matter how complex their systems and data sources evolves. To accomplish this, you can configure PlainID's API Authorizers.

You can view the list of available API Authorizers currently defined in the Authorization Platform on the API Authorizers tab in the Environment Settings screen. There, you can also:

    • Create a new API Authorizer instance
    • View and edit API Authorizer Details
    • Delete an Authorizer
    • Creating a New API Authorizer Instance

Each time you create a new API Authorizer instance, it is assigned a unique Authorizer ID. You can edit existing Authorizers to change its Vendor, Name and/or Description. You cannot change the vendor of an Authorizer once you have created it.

    2. Select the API Authorizers tab. The API Authorizers screen is displayed.

    3. Click New Authorizer. The General Details section opens, enabling you to define the new Authorizer.

    4. In the Vendor field, select the appropriate vendor. Options include: Apigee, Istio, Amazon API Gateway.

    5. In the Name field, enter a unique name for the Authorizer. This is the name displayed on the API Authorizers list.

    6. Enter a Description for the new API Authorizer (optional).

    7. Click Create. The new Authorizer is added to the list of API Authorizers.
